The high moorlands of the Moel Famau Country Park covers over 20,000 acres with extensive views that encompass the mountains of Snowdonia , the Vale of Clwyd, the estuary of the Dee and Liverpool Bay.
Hilltop dwellers settled in the area up to 2,000 years ago. Much of the highest ground is carpeted with heather and in summer the curlew's characteristic call is frequently heard. On the eastern slopes, rising almost to the summit of Moel Famau, is the Forestry Commission's Clwyd Forest. Go to Walk 15. |
